As teachers integrate the use of ELMO into their daily lessons a variety of educational and technological standards will be met. Virtually every educational standard can be met through the use of the ELMO. The additional standards that will be met with the addition of this technology initiative include the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) National Standards for Teachers. The ISTE Standards are relatively new but over time will become as commonplace and familiar as those of the content standards. Through the use of ELMO and any other technologies available in the classroom, teachers will become more familiar with these standards.

It is with great pleasure that we roll-out our ELMO initiative. Just think, ten or fifteen years ago it would sound outrageous to think that every computer would have wireless internet, computers, and LCD projectors. Now, just a short time later, these items are common in schools across the country. With the implementation of additional tools like Alpha Smart, Smart Boards, Palm Pilots and more, students are being given the opportunity to interact with technology and meet the new standards as set by the International Society for Technology in Education. Below is a compilation of the main ISTE Technology Standards addressed as a result of the use of ELMO.
